Two pairs of earbuds

Some notes on earphones related to the last post:

The aforementioned noise-canceling earbuds are Sony WF-1000XM4. They're really good at noise-canceling, obviously, and the ambient sound mode actually amplifies the outside since the isolation is pretty strong on its own. I got mine bundled with my phone (Xperia 5 IV), which you can see also suffers Sony's inability to name products with anything more meaningful than a glorified serial number.

I generally use Bose Sport Open Earbuds when I'm walking (which is often), since situational awareness is important. These leave the ears fully open to ambient noise and generally sound better for music than bone-conduction headphones (which have limited frequency range). Unfortunately they have been discontinued, so I'll have to take care of my pair. This was actually a begrudging change after losing my pair of the similar Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones after that product line was discontinued as well.
